• Nixa Fire and Ozark Fire join forces to improve water rescues (ozarksfirst.com) — Nixa residents will see faster, more coordinated water rescues thanks to a new joint Swiftwater Rescue Team formed by the Nixa and Ozark fire protection districts. The agreement standardizes training, dispatch, and equipment so local crews can respond quickly to dangerous flooding while still keeping firefighters available for emergencies back in Nixa neighborhoods. 
• Springfield-area fire departments to get 800 donated smoke alarms (news-leader.com) — Nixa families could benefit from a donation of 800 smoke alarms being shared among nine southwest Missouri fire departments, including Nixa's. The alarms, funded entirely by private donors, will support local fire prevention and education efforts during Fire Prevention Week and are expected to help protect thousands of residents across the region.
