• Scammer sends ride to St. Charles County grandmother to collect $12K (ksdk.com) — An O'Fallon grandmother narrowly avoided losing $12,000 after a scammer sent an Uber to drive her to the bank, claiming her computer had a virus and her accounts were compromised. Her family intervened in time, and now O'Fallon police are reviewing why no report was initially taken, offering a cautionary reminder for local seniors to ignore unsolicited tech-support calls.
