If you could change one thing about your product/service or industry-what would it be and why?

I would make it more available to more people. Most people (including where I am from) haven’t even heard of rowing let alone think of it as a fitness option!

Startups sometimes experience growing pains, what helps you get through these startup cycles?

We remember why we do what we do. When things get tough you have to think about what got you out of your job and into the chaos that is a start up. We got in this not only to do well for our families but to bring the benefits of rowing to more people all over the world.

What has surprised you during your time with this startup?

The rate of adoption of our brand of rowing fitness has been really surprising (in a good way). It is amazing that we were able to open our doors with less than 30k and get to over 1000 members in 8 months.

What advice would you give to an aspiring entrepreneur?

Be ready, mentally, physically and emotionally. Being an entrepreneur is not like having a job - it is more intense and more invasive as you cannot separate work from the rest of your life. You have to know that going in and prepare yourself, and those closest to you, for the ride.
