ST. LOUIS - SAndrea Jackson-Jennings, the long-serving director of Human Services, is leaving county government to become managing director of the Regional Response Team.

“This has been one of the most rewarding positions I’ve had,” Jackson-Jennings said, “Human Services is the social services arm for St. Louis County, ensuring our residents get the programs and services they deserve, that they can meet their basic needs. This department allows them to do that.”

Jackson-Jennings is proud of the work her department of 70 employees has accomplished since she became director in 2011. Especially during the pandemic, she said.

“It can be a little overwhelming. The need is so vast,” she said. “But we have wonderful, committed employees here.”

Jackson-Jennings began her tenure with St. Louis County in 2007, in constituent affairs for then-County Executive Charlie Dooley.

“AJ has been a great champion for our residents, especially during this pandemic, connecting them to emergency rental assistance, utility assistance, food distribution events and working with our community partners to provide as much help as possible during this very challenging time,” said County Executive Dr. Sam Page.

Jackson-Jennings said her work with the Regional Response Team will allow her to work in the same space as she has for years, but with a larger reach. More on the RRT can be found at: c19rrt.org.
