Eric Seitz, purchasing and supply technician in Central Services

“I came to Central Services in 2016, after working 10 years in the Treasurer’s Office. I enjoy Central Services, because it allows me to work with and get to know people from all County departments.

One of my responsibilities is the mail the County sends and receives. I sort all the incoming mail from the public to the County departments as well as make sure the mail from the County gets out to the public in a timely fashion. We operate our own postage meter, which allows the County to process up to 1,000 pieces of mail, letters and packages every day.

Another responsibility I’m tasked with is keeping the County supplied. Central Services oversees purchasing all the office supplies and different things that departments may need daily. We keep a small store of commonly used supplies that employees may come and get at any time, as well as do any custom orders for things we don't keep here. If there is anything an employee needs, I can get it.

Lastly, I am responsible for managing and maintaining the County’s motor pool fleet. We keep a fleet of 37 vehicles that employees use daily for any County business that requires them to travel. Central Services is responsible for keeping the fleet up to date and in good working order. If employees have an unexpected business trip and need a vehicle, they can come to me, and I will get them taken care of.

Along with my co-worker, Nick, Central Services is here to help the County function properly inside and out every day, and we are happy to assist in any way we can.”
