County forms reserve account to cover loss of large taxpayers (missoulacurrent.com) — Missoula County has created a new Large Taxpayer Reserve Account to cushion residents if one of the county's top 20 taxpayers ever closes or leaves. Funded by newly taxable property, the restricted reserve could help cover lost tax revenue, support infrastructure or housing, and reduce the burden on remaining Missoula County taxpayers over a decade-long transition. 
2. Longtime Missoula firefighter has 'great honor' to make his stage debut in 9/11 play (missoulian.com) — A longtime Missoula City Fire Department captain is stepping onto a different kind of stage as he makes his acting debut in "The Guys," a 9/11-themed play at Missoula Children's Theatre. The two-night production, marking the attacks' 25th anniversary, uses a firefighter's eulogy-writing journey to honor fallen first responders and reflect on how their sacrifices are remembered today.
3. Missoula, Montana Postal Machine Removal Threatens Mail Delivery Speed (matr.net) — Missoula postal workers are sounding the alarm over plans to remove one of four letter-sorting machines at the Kent Avenue processing center, which handles all western Montana mail. They fear slower delivery, possible job losses, and renewed pressure to shift processing away from Missoula, potentially affecting everything from local businesses' billing cycles to residents' prescription deliveries.
4. From client care to community leadership: Rosemary Callahan expands her impact (redcross.org) — Missoula County's Access and Functional Needs Subcommittee now has new leadership from Red Cross regional manager Rosemary Callahan, who's helping make local emergency planning more inclusive for residents needing extra support. 5. No child abuse-trained pediatrician in Montana prompts Missoula doctor to take action (kpax.com) — A Missoula pediatric hospitalist at Providence St. Patrick Hospital is spearheading a new telehealth network to help rural providers better detect and respond to child abuse across Montana. Partnering with University of Montana researchers, the "Montana Child Abuse Network" aims to give frontline professionals expert backup in tough cases, filling a major gap since the state lacks a child abuse-trained pediatrician.
