• Road bond moves forward, bank sign approved for placement by Custer County Supervisors (sandhillsexpress.com) — Custer County Supervisors have approved a Heritage Bank sign along the highway in Broken Bow that will also direct drivers to the Judicial Center, with the bank covering upkeep and utilities. The board also advanced a $2.1 million road bond, renewed employee benefits, set a deadline for hiring a new Highway Superintendent, and heard concerns about how a former employee’s medical leave was handled.
   

• Electric bike/scooters, Armory building sale, raise in trash collection cost all subjects at Broken Bow City Council meeting (sandhillsexpress.com) — Broken Bow residents could see a proposed increase in trash collection rates, as the City Council weighed a request from S&L Sanitation while delaying any final decision. Council members also heard safety concerns about electric bikes and scooters, advanced an ordinance discussion, and opened the door for bids on the Armory building, with key decisions expected at upcoming meetings.
   

• Broken Bow Athletes Qualify for State Track (sandhillsexpress.com) — Broken Bow track and field athletes are headed to the NSAA Class B state meet after strong performances at the B-6 district in Alliance, especially in the throwing events. Multiple Broken Bow boys and girls, including Drew Ellis and Charlee Myers, earned state berths and several others placed in the top six, highlighting local depth across relays and individual events.
