1. Chadron Police Department Participating in Click it or Ticket Campaign (chadronradio.com) — Chadron drivers can expect extra police patrols watching for seatbelt use from May 15–31 as the Chadron Police Department joins the statewide Make it Click enforcement campaign. With only 66% of local drivers and passengers buckling up, officers will focus on spotting improper or missing seatbelts, backed by NDOT grant funding and state crash data. 
2. Three students participate in Nebraska INBRE program (csc.edu) — Chadron State College students Sonya Behrends, Danara Abshire, and Piper Ryschon are spending the summer in Nebraska INBRE labs, gaining high-level cancer and biomedical research experience that starts right here in Chadron. Their projects range from prostate and breast cancer studies to antiviral drug development, all aimed at preparing them for graduate school and future science careers.
3. Economou candidate for graduation from Chadron State College (thewynneprogress.com) — Chadron State College is celebrating spring commencement, where Jordan Economou of Wynne is among candidates earning an Associate of General Studies. The ceremony at the Chicoine Center honored hundreds of graduates and featured Chadron native Shawn Banzhaf as speaker, while also highlighting CSC’s ReEngage Nebraska program for returning adult learners.
4. Dianna Christine Bonin (chadronradio.com) — Chadron residents are mourning the passing of 74-year-old Dianna Christine “Granny” Bonin, who died May 7 and was known for her devotion to family and simple joys. Her loved ones will honor her with a picnic celebration of life at a later date, remembering her warmth, creativity, and unwavering care for children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
