Lincoln's Air Park transforms into a racetrack for 1,400 competitors this week (1011now.com) — Lincoln's Air Park is turning into a massive racetrack this week as more than 1,400 drivers compete in the Sports Car Club of America Solo National Championships. Races run Tuesday through Friday from about 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., are free to attend, and welcome residents to watch everything from daily drivers to purpose-built race cars on a premier concrete surface.
   

3. Lincoln Welcoming Week features more than 35 September events (journalstar.com) — Lincoln Welcoming Week 2026 is bringing residents and newcomers together with more than 35 mostly free events across the city throughout September. From community gatherings to cultural activities, organizers aim to connect neighbors, local organizations, and new arrivals, giving Lincoln residents many chances to get involved and meet people all month long.
   

4. Bryan Health gets $750K grant to create rural residency program (journalstar.com) — Bryan Medical Center has secured a $750,000 federal grant to build a rural family medicine residency based in Crete, with key training rotations at Bryan Medical Center and the Lincoln Medical Education Partnership. For Lincoln residents, this means more young doctors training in the city while preparing to serve rural Nebraska, strengthening regional healthcare ties and potentially improving specialist access here over the next several years.
