Jury trial requested in Lincoln County Commissioner Chris Bruns' DUI case; pretrial set for November (wowt.com) ā A Lincoln County commissioner from North Platte has pleaded not guilty to a misdemeanor DUI charge and requested a jury trial, with a pretrial hearing set for November 13 in Lincoln County Court. The case is being handled by a special judge and outside prosecutor after local recusals, and the commissioner has been excused from appearing at routine court dates for now.

Tren de Aragua jackpotting architect faces trial in Omaha (northplattebulletin.com) ā Residents may recall three ATM jackpotting suspects arrested in North Platte in 2025; federal prosecutors now have an alleged mastermind of the scheme in custody in Omaha. Authorities say he developed malware used to drain ATMs nationwide, including in Nebraska, and he now faces multiple federal charges and a possible decades-long prison sentence if convicted.
