• Pony Express Annual Re-Ride gallops across central Nebraska on June 15 (1077theisland.com) — Riders in the Pony Express National Re-Ride will pass just four miles south of Overton on Wednesday, June 17, giving locals a close-up look at the historic mail route. The 24-hour relay starts June 15 in Missouri and crosses central Nebraska with stops near Hastings, Fort Kearny, Cozad, Gothenburg, and Brady before heading west.
