Here are the top three stories today in Las Vegas:

  1. Three men have been accused of stealing over 10,000 gallons of fuel from Las Vegas gas stations. Raidel Amador Blanco, Luis Gomez Medero, and Javier Ramos Gomez are each facing charges of theft and conspiracy, according to court records. The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department reports that on Apr. 7, the three men allegedly altered their trucks as well as gas pump sensors to steal the diesel fuel from a Chevron station. (News3LV)
  2. With a portion of the Las Vegas Strip shut down for this year's NFL draft, a Clark County leader is suggesting making the change a permanent one. In a tweet, Clark County Commissioner Tick Segerblom proposed the closure to make Las Vegas Boulevard more accessible and friendly to pedestrians. Segerblom noted the change wouldn't happen overnight, and county leaders will still need to assess the outcome of the temporary closure before making any decisions. (KTNV 13 Action News Las Vegas)
  3. On Sunday, the Asian Community Development Council hosted its inaugural "Run for Rice Walk for Wellness" race. All funds raised during the 5K will go toward food distribution efforts across Southern Nevada, as well as the new Hapi Medical Center, set to open later this month near Flamingo and Durango. Nevada First Lady Kathy Sisolak, who attended the Run for Rice, said, "It's amazing to see the AAPI community come together for this event." (News3LV)
