Here are the top three stories in Las Vegas today:

  1. Two suspects have been arrested in connection with a string of apartment burglaries across the Las Vegas area. According to police, Alexander Ursell and Blake Bacon broke into and stole items from garages at apartment complexes between October 2021 and February 2022. Ursell, who was released from jail on Mar. 16, will have his next hearing set for May 18. Bacon entered a guilty plea on Mar. 8; his sentencing is set for Jun. 8. (Fox 5 Las Vegas)
  2. Last month, a man confronted Governor Steve Sisolak and his wife at a Las Vegas restaurant and recorded the altercation. Yesterday, Governor Sisolak announced he would not be pressing charges against the man, identified as Justin Andersch. In a statement, the governor said a trial "would cause further coverage, and provide this small minority of Nevadans more opportunity to spew their vile [...] I ask our friends in the media to pay more attention to the thousands of acts of kindness and the charitable activities of our many kindhearted Nevadans." (News 3 LV)
  3. The World Series of Poker (WSOP) has announced a new pay structure that would increase wages for all prospective dealers. In addition to higher starting pay and guaranteed payment per down for tournament events, leftover dealer funds will be paid out as a bonus based on the total number of downs. The announcement comes ahead of the 53rd annual WSOP, to be held on the Las Vegas Strip starting May 31. (Fox 5 Las Vegas)
