Here are the top three stories in Las Vegas today:
- One man is dead and another is in critical condition after a shooting outside a Las Vegas recording studio. According to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, the Thursday night shooting appeared to stem from an argument that escalated. A 23-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene; a 24-year-old man was hospitalized in critical condition. As of Friday, the shooter was still at large, and authorities "do not have a good enough description to give to the public." (KTNV 13 Action News Las Vegas)
- As Las Vegas continues to host big-name events like the NBA Summer League and the Tejano Takeover Convention, city tourism rates are rising to pre-pandemic levels. The Las Vegas Convention & Visitors Authority reported over 3.4 million visitors for May 2022 — just seven percent shy of its numbers for May 2019. (KTNV 13 Action News Las Vegas)
