Here are the top three stories in Las Vegas today:

  1. Clark County has announced the completion of Ft. Apache Road improvements on Monday. The improvement project added bike lanes, sidewalks, streetlights, and travel lanes to Blue Diamond Road. Storm drains and traffic signals were also improved. (KTNV 13 Action News Las Vegas)
  2. An investigation has uncovered that local leaders are reportedly destroying tiny homes built in Las Vegas for the state's homeless population. The pandemic has increased the homeless population living on Southern Nevada streets — about 5,000 individuals each night. Municipalities are tearing down the tiny homes due to zoning issues. A new state law will require cities to create new zoning codes for tiny home allowance but it isn't required until 2024. (KTNV 13 Action News Las Vegas)
  3. The University of Nevada, Las Vegas has implemented a new smoking policy. As of Monday, students and staff are banned from smoking or vaping on campus. The ban extends to both indoor and outdoor locations. The policy announcement was made in April 2022 but has just gone into effect. (Las Vegas Review-Journal)
