  1. This week, Hard Rock International purchased the operations of The Mirage Hotel & Casino from MGM Resorts International for $1.075 billion. It has plans to revamp the Las Vegas strip by turning the iconic casino into a guitar-shaped space like the one built in Florida. (Travel + Leisure)
  2. Yesterday, leaders in the city of Las Vegas unveiled the first phase of a homeless courtyard expansion. The area is meant to help the valley's most vulnerable with housing and resources.
    The new covered sleeping area will host 800 guests at a time and give the homeless access to restrooms, showers, meals, and counseling. (KTNV Las Vegas)
  3. A man suspected of two sexual assault cases in Las Vegas was arrested last month as he re-entered the U.S. in New York, the Metropolitan Police Department said Thursday. Zeng Fu Lin, 40, was taken into custody on Nov. 28. The crimes he is accused of committing occurred in 2015 and 2018, police said, noting that investigators knew he lived out of the country. Cold case detectives identified Lin using DNA technology. (Las Vegas Review-Journal)
