Here are the top three stories in Las Vegas today:

  1. A Minneapolis-based nonprofit, the Jeremiah Program, is expanding to Las Vegas to help struggling single moms. The Minneapolis-based nonprofit focuses on providing resources and counseling to single mothers and their children. Jeremiah's CEO and president, Chastity Lord says the need to help struggling mothers is everywhere and the organization decided to expand to Las Vegas after reviewing recent data in the valley. "We know that UNLV has an incredible early childhood program that a lot of moms can benefit from, but unfortunately, there's not family housing," she said as one example. "So there's an opportunity there." (KNPR)
  2. A 13-year-old from Las Vegas has been accused of threatening a school shooting in an Arizona elementary school earlier this week. The teen is being charged in Mohave County in Arizona for calling and making a threat of a possible shooting toward Black Mountain Elementary School in Golden Valley, Arizona. The girl has admitted to making the threat and police do not believe that her threat was credible. (Fox 5 Las Vegas)
  3. One person was critically injured in a stabbing near downtown Las Vegas Thursday morning. Police were called to the area of Main Street and Foremaster Lane where they believe three men were involved in the stabbing incident. The investigation is ongoing and details are currently limited.
