Here are the top 3 stories in Las Vegas today:

  1. The general manager of Sugar Factory in Las Vegas was accused of stealing over $100,000 from the business. The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police has charged the man with one count of theft. According to authorities, Michael Moore has denied any wrongdoing and refused to speak to the police. Currently, it is unknown whether or not Moore has a lawyer who can speak on his behalf. His preliminary hearing is scheduled for May 27. (News3LV)
  2. Yesterday morning, a grocery store in east Las Vegas had to close due to a fire that took place and damaged the produce section. According to reports, Las Vegas and Clark County firefighters were called to the scene at around 11:10 a.m. to La Bonita Supermarket. They were able to stop the fire and clear out all the smoke; however, a closure was set in place due to the smoke contaminating all the food in the store. Thankfully, no shoppers or any employees were injured during the fire. (Las Vegas Review-Journal)
  3. This past Saturday afternoon, the community gathered outside Las Vegas City Hall in support of Ukraine. During the rally, everyone was "bearing blue and yellow clothing, flags and signs all while singing patriotic songs and shouting chants against Russia's president." The hundreds of people gathered are calling for an end to Russia's invasion of Ukraine. The organizers have stated that they will continue to host these rallies for Ukraine until a positive change is seen. (News3LV)
