🌱 Monkeypox Vaccines + Animal Cruelty Laws During Heatwave

The quickest way to get caught up on the most important things happening today in Las Vegas.

Good morning, friends. It's Saturday in Las Vegas and I'm back in your inbox to get you caught up on all the most important things happening in our community today.

First, today's weather:

Hot with periods of sun. High: 111 Low: 87.

Here are the top three stories in Las Vegas today:

  1. The Southern Nevada Health District will begin administering monkeypox vaccines on Monday in Las Vegas. The vaccines are in limited supply. The department has not indicated how many vaccines it has available. To make an appointment, click here or call 702-759-0850. (Las Vegas Sun)
  2. A dumpster fire in the 3900 block of Paradise Road spread to a restaurant near the Strip. The Clark County Fire Department responded to the incident and evacuated building occupants. The fire is currently under investigation and damages have not been determined. (Las Vegas Sun)
  3. The City of Las Vegas is reminding residents about strengthened animal cruelty laws. The remainder is in response to rising temperatures occurring throughout the Las Vegas Valley. The laws require pet owners to provide cooling devices while updating tethering laws. Any animal welfare concerns can be reported by calling 702-229-6444 ext. 2. (Fox 5 Las Vegas)
