🌱 Nevada Execution On Hold + Vegas IRS Warns Of COVID Scams
The quickest way to get caught up on the most important things happening today in Las Vegas.

Rise and shine, Las Vegas! Let's get you all caught up to start this Tuesday, February 15 off on an informed note. Here's what's going on around Las Vegas today.
First, today's weather:
Windy, then blowing dust. High: 66 Low: 45.
Here are the top three stories today in Las Vegas:
- As of Monday, Nevada's first execution in almost 16 years is once again on hold due to presently-unsatisfied legal requirements. According to Randall Gilmer, chief deputy Nevada attorney general, "it would be impossible" to meet the legal requirements necessary to put Zane Michael Floyd to death by lethal injection at this time. 46-year-old Floyd was convicted in 2000 in a Las Vegas grocery store shooting, which killed four and wounded a fifth. - IRS special agents in Las Vegas are warning residents to keep an eye out for potential COVID-19-related tax scams this year. According to IRS investigators, some disreputable tax preparers are using their client's personal information to obtain fraudulent tax credits. In addition to stimulus-related fraud and other scams, text and email scams are also an ongoing concern in the Valley. (News3LV)
- A man was fatally shot after attempting to steal a car in central Las Vegas on Sunday. Police responded to reports of a male being shot near a warehouse on South Valley View. Local investigators detained a warehouse employee, who stated that he saw the man attempting to escape in his vehicle. The employee reportedly ordered the man to stop and fired two rounds when he did not comply. (News3LV)
