Here are the top 3 stories in Las Vegas today:
- A local sip and paint studio franchise announced this week that it will be donating funds from an upcoming class to the Ukraine relief efforts. Pinot's Palette will host a class called "Paint it Forward for Ukraine" on Wednesday, March 9, at all three of its Las Vegas locations. The class will focus on painting sunflowers, the national flower of Ukraine. The proceeds will go directly to the International Committee of the Red Cross, an organization providing vital assistance in Ukraine. (Fox 5 Las Vegas)
- A new service in Las Vegas might allow you to make some extra cash off of your backyard. Sniffspot is an Airbnb-esque service that allows those with fenced-in backyards to rent them out to dog owners. Owners and their dogs simply show up and use your backyard as a private park for however long they'd like. According to the service, listings can start at $4 an hour and some are up to $25. (Fox 5 Las Vegas)
- Over the last month, several renters at an apartment complex in Las Vegas have been without heat. Technicians from Southwest Gas allegedly came to inspect the units at Ferrell Apartments near Simmons Street and Vegas Drive, and disconnected several of them from the gas because they were not functioning properly. After they left, the property manager reportedly turned the gas back on, causing an awful smell to infiltrate the apartments. One resident climbed onto the roof out of desperation and found possible dead birds in the unit, which could cause a carbon monoxide leak. (news3lv)
