Harvard initiative analyzes Las Vegas efforts to address homelessness (news3lv.com) — Las Vegas is partnering with the Bloomberg Harvard City Leadership Initiative to closely study its Downtown Homeless Intervention 100-Day Accelerator and the city's MORE outreach team, which has operated since 2025. With more than 8,800 unhoused residents countywide, the review will analyze 1,000 recent outreach encounters and could shape future services, housing strategies, and nonprofit support for people experiencing homelessness in and around downtown.
   

2. 'Spherical Armadillo' Of The Strip Taking Shape: Construction Of A's Stadium Halfway Complete In Las Vegas (lvsportsbiz.com) — Construction of the A's new domed stadium on the former Tropicana site is about halfway complete, bringing a 30,000-seat ballpark and major tourism-focused development to the Las Vegas Strip. With hundreds of millions in public assistance, premium clubs, and a Strip-facing glass wall, the project is expected to reshape local sports, traffic, and visitor spending when games begin in 2028.
   

3. Las Vegas man sentenced to prison after deadly beating of 60-year-old man (8newsnow.com) — A Las Vegas man has been sentenced to three to eight years in prison for the fatal July 9 beating of 60-year-old Scott Dennis outside a business near East Sahara Avenue and South Maryland Parkway. Police say Dennis intervened when a man yelled at his friend in line, was punched, and later died at the hospital, prompting the voluntary manslaughter conviction.
   

4. Las Vegas housing sales and prices fall after Feds raise rate (bigcountrynewsconnection.com) — Las Vegas homebuyers and sellers are feeling the squeeze as mortgage rates above 7% drive down both prices and sales across the valley. Local Realtors and housing advocates say inventory is tight, first-time buyers are older than ever, and everyday costs like utilities and groceries are making it harder for residents to move or refinance.
   

5. Passengers sue Frontier Airlines 2 years after plane catches fire at Las Vegas airport (8newsnow.com) — Two passengers are suing Frontier Airlines in Clark County District Court over a 2024 emergency landing and fire at Harry Reid International Airport in Las Vegas, alleging negligence and lasting physical and emotional harm. The lawsuit details failing aircraft systems, visible flames near the landing gear, and a long wait on the runway, while Frontier has been asked for comment and the claims remain unproven.
