With student injuries sharply up, local officers and parents are pushing both enforcement and education, including safety videos and teaching kids how to navigate busy streets around schools.

Doctors warn that rising scooter and e-bike use is outpacing safety awareness and urge riders of all ages to wear helmets, even for very short trips.
