D.3 - COVID-19 Vaccination Update

Leaders with the Reno Fire Department “Point of Dispensing Process” updated council on the vaccination program. So far, no doses have been wasted or gone unused. This week, the POD provided nearly 100 doses to the unsheltered population in the shelter system. The PODs have averaged 50 people every 30 minutes to minimize potential waste, and to provide faster service.

D.4.1, D.4.2, D.4.3 - Homeless Services and Nevada Cares Campus

Council approved a slate of updates and plans regarding the future of operations in the region. Staff presented timelines for the Cares Campus opening in mid-April, along with a playbook for future phases for the campus and the overall approach to help the unsheltered community. Council directed staff to prepare formal Memorandums of Understanding with Washoe County or other providers about the transition of operations away from the City of Reno. Finally, council directed staff to begin a review of city ordinances about public space and Homeless Service Providers.

D.2 - Rosewood Lakes Golf Course

Council approved a 30-year lease with a renewal option with the Truckee Meadows Parks Foundation to restore the area to its natural wetlands. The course, located at 6800 Pembroke Drive, has been closed since June of 2015. This agreement will allow the TMPF to preserve this course as open space and create a nature study area.

I.1.1, I.1.2, I.1.3 - Santerra Quilici Properties Appeal

Council modified a Master Plan amendment and approved introduction of an ordinance for zoning and land use designation changes. The project is located southeast of Interstate 80 and southwest of Boomtown Garson Road.
