County approves new animal shelter in Las Vegas (fox5vegas.com) — Clark County has approved zoning for a new Animal Resource Center in Spring Valley, promising more space and services for local pets and their owners. Planned near Post Road and Jones Boulevard, the 37,000‑square‑foot shelter will house up to about 190 animals and serve as a regional backup facility, with construction targeted for completion in winter 2028.
   

2. Waymo opens driverless rides in Las Vegas, its fourth new US city this month (thenextweb.com) — Waymo has launched fully driverless rides in Las Vegas, with a service zone stretching from Boulder Junction up the Strip and east–west from the edge of Spring Valley to Winchester. While rides don't yet run deep into Spring Valley, residents are now just outside the coverage area and can access autonomous trips to major destinations like Allegiant Stadium and The Venetian.
   

3. Photos: SPONGE to Release Final Studio Album Recuerda Tu Muerte (broadwayworld.com) — Spring Valley rock fans can catch Detroit band Sponge live at Bel-Aire Backyard on October 3, part of the tour supporting their final studio album, Recuerda Tu Muerte. The group has just released the single "Self Inflicted Loss" with a quirky stop‑motion video, and the tour promises a mix of new songs and the 90s alternative hits many locals grew up with.
   

4.
