• United Way Announces Annual Coat Drive (newenglandnewspress.com) — Families in Amherst can donate new or gently used winter coats at Bangor Savings Bank on Route 101A as part of a statewide United Way drive running through October 23. Collected coats will be cleaned by Cleary Cleaners and distributed to nonprofits across New Hampshire to help children, seniors, and others stay warm this winter, with online giving and Amazon wish list options also available.
