Bedford Jogger, Struck by Car Last Week, Passes Away
The crash incident involving a teen driver that reportedly struck, killed Thomas Ducharme, and injured another, is still being investigated.
BEDFORD, NH — A jogger, one of two, that was stuck on Nov. 8, 2016, while running in town, passed away on Saturday due to the injuries of the crash, according to Bedford Police Chief John J. Bryfonski. Thomas Ducharme, 58, died on Nov. 12, while in the hospital, according to Bryfonski.
A second jogger – another 58-year-old man from Bedford – has been released from the hospital.
A 16-year-old from Bedford was reportedly driving a Honda sedan at around 7 a.m. last Tuesday when it reportedly hit the joggers on Pembroke Way.

“(The driver’s) name will not be released due to his age,” Bryfonski noted in a statement. “At this time, alcohol does not appear to be a factor in the crash, however, police are looking into whether frost on the windshield of the sedan may be a factor. The crash remains under investigation by the Bedford Police Department’s Technical Accident Reconstruction team.”
Bedford Police remind residents to always make sure their front and back windshields are fully defrosted before operating their motor vehicles.
