Cops Say Man From Maine Fired Gun During Manchester Melee Last Year

MANCHESTER, NH — Police in Manchester are asking for the public’s help finding a man from Maine accused of firing a gun during a fight on Chestnut Street last year.
Around 1:30 a.m. on Nov. 11, 2024, officers were sent to the area of the La Esquina bar for a report of people shouting. When they arrived, cops found several people fighting and a man fleeing the scene as officers approached, Heather Hamel, the public information officer for Manchester police, said.

“Police broke up the fight and learned from witnesses that during the altercation, someone had fired a gun,” she said.
During the investigation, Morris Brutus, 36, of Lewiston, ME, was identified as a suspect. A warrant was issued for his arrest on a single felony count of reckless conduct-deadly weapon.
