Foxx: Kara LaMarche For Bedford School Board

Hello friends and fellow Bedford residents,

I wanted to encourage you to vote for Kara LaMarche for a three-year term on the Bedford School Board. Kara has served on the school board for the past year and has learned a great deal about the complexities and intricacies of our school system.

She has brought a balanced and thoughtful perspective to work with others on the school board, arriving at common ground to ensure that the decisions made are in the best interests of our students, teachers, taxpayers, and families alike.

Kara gives tirelessly of her time and talents to make our town a better place. She is a dedicated advocate for our students, working to ensure that their educational experience in Bedford is unparalleled. To that end, she has volunteered in the following capacities:

• Member of the Steering Committee for Stand By Me - An all day workshop program for Lurgio Middle School 7th grade students and their parents/guardians;
• Board Member, The Benny Fund, a youth suicide prevention nonprofit;
• Mentor for a BHS student on his senior project which was a “Stick it to Stigma” Mental health awareness hockey game where we announced a new scholarship for a BHS graduating senior entering a mental health related field;
• Board Liaison for the PTG and the Bedford Bulldogs Athletic Booster Club (BBABC);
• Board Member, Bedford Education Foundation (BEF).

Kara has selflessly served our community as a devoted board member, and I am excited to see what she and the other current board members (including Melinda Bator, who is also currently on the ballot) can accomplish given the opportunity and continued support from our community.
