📰 News we're reading

• Londonderry firefighter who caught fire now recovering at home (wmur.com) — Bedford firefighters were among several regional crews who rushed to help battle a dangerous Londonderry house fire Friday night, where a flashover left a lieutenant with a broken leg and minor burns. All five residents escaped safely, and the injured firefighter is now recovering at home, calling himself the "luckiest unlucky guy" after the close call.

• West Milton Farmer John Twombly (1769-1836) (miltonobserver.com) — A detailed local history piece traces farmer John Twombly's family from 18th‑century Rochester and Milton through generations that later settled across New Hampshire, including Bedford. Bedford readers learn about a Twombly aunt living in an 1880 Bedford farm household and an Abigail Twombly who died in Bedford in 1893, tying broader regional genealogy directly to the town.
