MANCHESTER, NH — A Queen City man is scheduled to be arraigned in superior court Tuesday after being accused of threatening another man with a sword. Around 5:15 p.m. Monday, police in Manchester were called to a building on Elm Street for a report of a criminal threatening incident. Officers, according to Heather Hamel, the public information officer for police in Manchester, spoke to the victim who said loud music prompted him to knock on the door of a neighbor to ask him to turn the music down.

The man in the other apartment, later identified as Benjamin Layland, 47, "reportedly became upset and grabbed a sword, approximately 2 1/2 feet in length, and started chasing the other man down the hall," Hamel said.

"The man was able to get away and there were no injuries," she added.
