Man From Goffstown Charged With Attempted Murder After Argument, Shooting, Police Say
Ted Herbert Ross was arrested on charges after he was accused of threatening a family member and shooting at another victim on Sunday.

GOFFSTOWN, NH — A man from Goffstown was arrested, arraigned, and held on preventive detention after a shooting in Goffstown on Sunday.
Police were called to South Mast Road in Goffstown for a report of a domestic dispute. When they arrived, they learned an argument between Ted Herbert Ross, 54, of South Mast Street in Goffstown, and a man and woman had ensued. Ross, according to police, “pulled out a firearm and held the male and female victims at gunpoint for approximately 30 minutes.” According to court documents, the woman was a family member, and Ross threatened to kill her and the man who was being held. The gun in question was a .38 caliber Smith & Wesson, according to a report.

At one point during the incident, the man ran toward the home’s front door to escape and call for help. After doing so, Ross was accused of shooting at him but missing, police said.
Ross discarded the gun and fled the scene, according to court documents, but was arrested later.

Ross was charged with two counts of attempted murder, domestic violence-false imprisonment-deadly weapon, domestic violence-criminal threat against a person-deadly weapon, criminal threat against a person with a deadly weapon, reckless conduct-deadly weapon, falsifying physical evidence, and kidnapping, all felonies. He was arraigned by video in Goffstown District Court and held on preventive detention.
A probable cause hearing is slated for March 17.
