NH Man Arrested After Crashing Stolen Car, Making Gun Threat: Cops
John Cassidy allegedly stole a Subaru at a burglary, made a threat on I-93, crashed the car and left it hanging, burning from a guardrail.

MANCHESTER, NH — A local man was arrested this afternoon after allegedly stealing vehicle from a burglary scene, threatening another person, and crashing the vehicle, police in Manchester allege. John Cassidy, 48, of Manchester, was arrested on June 23, 2017, and charged with burglary, theft of a motor vehicle, conduct after an accident, resisting arrest, reckless conduct, criminal threatening, and operating after suspension. Officers and firefighters were sent to a crash at around noon today on the Bridge Street Extension in Manchester.

When they arrived, they reportedly found a Subaru on fire and hanging off a guardrail, according to Sgt. Christopher Biron of the Manchester Police Department.

“The driver/suspect was located walking away from the vehicle and refused to stop for officers,” Biron alleged.

The suspect – Cassidy – was detained and questioned and during the course of the investigation, police learned that Cassidy had allegedly “attempted to run another vehicle off of the road at the Exit 8 off ramp on I-93 South,” according to Biron.
“The victim reported that Cassidy threatened to shoot him after he attempted to run his vehicle off of the road,” the report alleged. “The vehicle that Cassidy had crashed was reported stolen earlier from Manchester during a burglary.”
