Sobriety Checkpoint Coming To Central NH In July
Here's everything you need to know concerning an upcoming sobriety checkpoint scheduled for July 20.

MANCHESTER, NH — The Manchester Police Department has requested – and been granted – permission to host a sobriety checkpoint in the Queen City in July, according to a press statement. The checkpoint, according to police, is considered to be “an effective method of detecting and apprehending the impaired operator.” The program is funded via grants from the NH Highway Safety Agency and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, noted Lt. Brian O’Keefe of the Manchester Police Department.
“A review of records has shown that the use of alcohol by individuals who operate motor vehicles has resulted in an alarming number of deaths and personal injury accidents,” he noted, hence the request for the application.

The checkpoint will be held somewhere in Manchester on Thursday, July 20, through Friday, July 21, 2017, according to the press alert.
“Manchester Police Chief Willard has taken an aggressive stance to prevent persons from driving when intoxicated. New Hampshire has some of the most aggressive laws in the country to fight the intoxicated driver and the law enforcement community will use those tools to their full extent," O’Keefe noted.
