NHSP Investigate Crashes, DUI, Drug Cases: Roundup
Plus, juvenile arrested after alleged three-state burglary, vehicle theft spree and Bay State residents arrested on drug, DUI charges.

CONCORD, NH — A juvenile was recently arrested on June 20, 2017, by Farmington ME Police after a lengthy search reportedly involving burglaries and vehicle thefts in three states, according to New Hampshire State Police. On June 18, at just before 9 p.m., troopers from Troop F were sent to a motor vehicle collision involving a pickup truck on Route 3 in Stewartstown. When they arrived, the operator had reportedly fled the area on foot.
“The road had to be temporarily shut down to remove the vehicle,” according to Lt. Gary Prince of the NHSP. “During the investigation, state police learned that the vehicle had been stolen from Clarkesville.”
Colebrook Police and U.S. Border Patrol assisted in searching for the driver and while doing so, received reports that the pickup truck was stolen and that there was a second stolen pickup reported out of Stratford. The owner of that vehicle reported that a third vehicle that also may have been stolen was left at the scene. That vehicle was also reported stolen out of Northumberland.

Bearcat Crash
On June 5, NHSP were sent to Farmington to assist with a crash. According to the investigation, a Milton man driving a Honda Civic reportedly crashed into a Bearcat SWAT vehicle during a “tactical operation” on Route 153. The driver of the vehicle was taken to the hospital with “significant injuries,” according to Lt. John Hennessey of the NHSP, who also noted that the driver was not wearing his seatbelt at the time of the crash.
No charges were filed at post time.
DUI Charge Issues After Crash
Also on June 5, NHSP were sent to Route 137 in Dublin for a report of a single vehicle crash into a utility pole. After investigating the incident, the driver – Christopher Meinsma, 30, of Dublin – was charged with aggravated DUI.
“(The) investigation revealed that Meinsma was traveling at an excessive rate of speed and lost control of the vehicle,” according to Lt. Joseph DiRusso of Troop C. “The vehicle crashed into a utility pole, damaging it. As a result of the crash, Meinsma suffered serious but non-life threatening injuries and was transported by Peterborough Ambulance to Monadnock Community Hospital for treatment.”
Route 137 was closed for about an hour, according to the report.
