Volunteer Coordinator: Girl Scouts Beyond Bars

Girl Scouts of the Green and White Mountains is currently seeking a Girls Scouts Beyond Bars intern. The intern will work closely with the Special Programs and Events team. Responsibilities will include:

·         This position is to run a Girl Scout Troop comprised of incarcerated mothers and their daughters within the walls of the NH State Women’s Correctional Facility every third Saturday of the month between November and June from 3-5pm

·         Design and run monthly mom & daughter troop meetings which are aligned with the Journeys of the girl scout program

·         Design and run monthly mom-only meeting during which you aid the mothers in designing the mother-daughter troop meeting the Tuesday following the Troop meeting every month from 3-4pm

·         Comply with all GSGWM and NHPS volunteer rules and regulations

·         Communicate with Nicole about needed supplies and be willing to adapt plans at last minute according to prison regulations

Requirements:

Volunteers must be at least 20 years old, have a valid driver's license, and be willing to submit to our volunteer screening and training process (will include a criminal background check). Volunteers must be reliable, willing to take initiative and committed to being a part of the program. Volunteers with a background in criminal justice, social service, or psychology would be preferred but not required.
