​2 Dead After Shooting At The Steeplegate Mall In Concord​

Update: The New Hampshire Attorney General's Office is investigating the deaths of a man and a woman after a shooting Wednesday in Concord.

CONCORD, NH — The New Hampshire Attorney General's Office announced that two people involved in a shooting at the Steeplegate Mall in Concord Wednesday have died. The deceased were a man and woman. Their identities were withheld until next of kin have been notified, according to Kate Spiner, director of communications for the New Hampshire Attorney General's Office.

"At this time, this matter appears to be a contained incident and all individuals involved have been identified," she said. "Further, there does not appear to be any threat to the public."

Autopsies have not been scheduled.

Police were sent to the eastern side of the mall at around 7:45 p.m. The first officer found a man with a gunshot wound to the head and a gun next to him as well as a woman on the ground. The man was pronounced dead at the scene, according to scanner chatter, and the woman was taken to the hospital. She was taken to Concord Hospital and succumbed to her injuries not long after.
