Concord Double Shooting Takes The Lives Of 2 At Steeplegate Mall

CONCORD, NH — Concord police are investigating a double shooting at the Steeplegate Mall on Loudon Road. At least two people, a man and a woman, were reportedly injured. The first report came in at just before 7:44 p.m.

The first officer at the scene reported finding a man, severely injured with a gunshot wound to the head and a gun next to him as well as a woman who was also injured. The officer called for backup as well as two ambulances.

The bodies were found on the east side of the complex near the Zoo Health Club.

At the same time, Concord firefighters, who were staged at Shaw's Supermarket while police figured out what exactly was going on, moved into the area.

A woman was taken to the hospital while the male was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police spoke to at least three witnesses at the scene.

According to Concord police, this shooting appears to be an isolated incident and the situation has been contained. The public is not in any immediate danger.

The New Hampshire Attorney General's Office will be taking over the investigation this evening, according to published reports online.
