2 Firearms Stolen From Unlocked Car

Two firearms -- both with full magazines -- were stolen from an unlocked car on Mulberry Street between 11:30 p.m. Monday and 6:45 a.m. Tuesday, police say.

Thefts from multiple, apparently unlocked, vehicles in the 42 and 53 Mulberry St. area were reported this week, police said Friday in a press release. Each theft, primarily of loose change, apparently occurred between Monday and Tuesday.

Stolen in the latest theft were: a Glock G26, Gen 4, 9mm, semiautomatic handgun with a black handle, a gun metal blue barrel and slide; the gun’s black Blackhawk holster, with a second loaded magazine; an all-black Ruger SR22 PB, .22 LR, .22 caliber, semiautomatic handgun; a grey U.S. Army issued Ontario 3 1/2” folding knife; an Apple IPOD NANO, with black body clip; a pack of Marlboro cigarettes; and about $10 in loose change from the vehicle’s center console, police said.

The victim called police around 7 a.m. Tuesday after noticing, while leaving for work, that “the glove box inside his car was open,” police said. He had parked the car, and left it unlocked, around 11:30 p.m. Monday.
