$3.5M+ Donated To New Hampshire Nonprofits During Fundraising Event

CONCORD, NH — NH Gives broke another record in 2022, raising the most money ever in a single day event in the state’s history.

On June 7 and June 8, more than $3.5 million was raised for 575 nonprofits, with more than 13,000 people donating money. During the past seven years, the event has raised around $12 million for 1,000 nonprofits. Since the coronavirus pandemic, Granite Staters have also stepped up their giving to meet increased needs. About $10 million of that $12 million was raised during the past three years.

“It is just so wonderful to see this kind of generosity being sustained in New Hampshire,” Kathleen Reardon, the CEO of the New Hampshire Center for Nonprofits, said. “Nonprofits are doing heroic work, rising to meet the needs of our communities. People from every corner of our state stepped up to support their vital work. Thank you so much to every single person who gave.”

About $1.4 million in bonus pool and matching funds help to make donations bigger than they would be. The New Hampshire Charitable Foundation and its donors contributed $240,000, and another $1.2 million was matched.

“We can accomplish incredible things when we work together, and NH Gives is proof of that,” Kristen Oliveri, the vice president for marketing and communications at the New Hampshire Charitable Foundation, said. “It’s a challenging time out there for a lot of people, yet Granite Staters showed up to support the organizations that make all of our lives better and see our communities through difficult times. The New Hampshire Center for Nonprofits has created something special with NH Gives, and the Charitable Foundation is so proud to be a part of it.”

Friends of Mascoma, a group of community advocates who support educational advancement and nutritional wellbeing for students and families in the Mascoma Valley Regional School District, was the top online fundraiser during NH Gives, raising just more than $59,000, officials said.

The Peace and Paws Dog Rescue, a volunteer, foster-based rescue that saves dogs from high-kill shelters, had the most individual donors during the event — 293. Peace and Paws was awarded a $2,500 “Power of Community” prize for garnering the most unique donors, officials said.
