CONCORD, NH — A New Hampshire State Police chase early Thursday morning through Concord led to spike strips being laid out on Route 106 as well as other parts of the city to stop the vehicle.
Around 12:45 a.m., a Concord officer attempted to stop the driver of a Jeep Cherokee, known to him, on Loudon Road and East Side Drive. The driver was accused of failing to stop and fled the scene east on Loudon Road.
The officer said they would make their way to the homeless camp between Loudon Road and Sheep Davis Road and see if they could catch up with the driver there. Other officers headed to the eastern part of the city since the driver previously lived in Center Barnstead.

At just after 1 a.m., state police spotted the vehicle on Route 9 heading into Concord. The trooper accused the driver of speeds of between 108 and 112 miles per hour as the vehicle entered the city.
“I’m still trying to catch up,” one trooper said.
The chase continued into Concord on Loudon Road with state police clocking the vehicle at between 88 and 100 mph.
A watch commander told Concord officers to only assist and not engage in the chase. Officers began making plans to place strips in other parts of the city, according to scanner chatter.
The trooper was asked what the original reason for the stop was, and they said “speed, 110,” according to scanner chatter.
The driver continued on Loudon Road, driving at more than 100 mph, according to state police. The driver continued into the western part of the city just after 1 a.m. onto Centre Street. At the roundabout with Liberty and Auburn, the driver turned around and headed east on Centre Street, reaching 85 mph, according to the trooper, who was giving Troop D command frequent updates.

The driver turned onto North Main Street, heading south, ran red lights, and turned onto Manchester Street, heading east, the trooper said. The chase continued onto Airport Road to Regional Drive.
In coordination with Concord police, spike strips were laid out at the intersection of Interstate 393 and Route 106. The driver turned onto Route 106 and reached speeds of 100 mph, the trooper said.

The driver blew through the spike strips and continued north on Route 106 at 105 mph. But the trooper said the tire deflation had slowed the driver, as their speed quickly diminished, dropping into the 60s.
The driver turned onto Wales Bridge Road in Loudon and continued until Route 129, where they drove through the traffic light and into the opposite lane of travel, according to a trooper. The state police K-9 unit was following along, in case they were needed, according to scanner chatter.
State police began decamping near the Cascade Campground and requested Concord send an officer to the area.
Around 1:30 a.m., three people were taken into custody.
