4-Vehicle Crash, With Entrapment, Closes Hooksett Streets
Update: 5 patients were injured during a crash near Route 3 on Wednesday; hospital trauma alerts requested; 3 people died.
HOOKSETT, NH — Police and firefighters were sent to a multi-vehicle crash on Main Street off its intersection with Route 3 in Hooksett, with people trapped inside at least one of the vehicles on Wednesday.
Around 1:15 p.m., Capital Area Mutual Aid Fire Compact dispatch began receiving reports of a crash on the roadway. The first reports stated at least three vehicles were involved in the collision with entrapment. One person was reportedly unconscious.

When police and firefighters arrived, they confirmed “multiple vehicles with heavy damage,” and the fire commander requested another ambulance.

“We’ll keep the Bow ambulance rolling,” dispatch told the commander.
“It appears as though we have four patients,” the commander said. “We do have entrapment. We’re going to work.”

Hooksett police sent out a press release saying the roads around the crash would be closed for several hours. Dispatch also requested a fourth ambulance from Tri-Town in Pembroke.
A second crash was reported on Interstate 93 in Hooksett and mutual aid was requested to cover.
A few minutes later, the commander stated EMTs had five patients and requested a trauma activation at Eliot Hospital due to two Status 1, a Status 2, and two Status. The hospital confirmed it could take two trauma code patients and they were transported.
The commander said one patient was extricated while firefighters tried removing a second patient. EMTs then prepared the Status 2 patient to go to Concord Hospital.
Around 1:45 p.m., the commander reported the Status 2 patient was elevated to Status 1 and Tri-Town took them to Concord. The commander also requested a fifth ambulance and dispatch sent Concord EMTs.
Allenstown fire was requested for mutual aid in Hooksett.
Just after 6 p.m., police announced all roads were opened.
Later on Wednesday, police released a statement saying three people died during the crash.
