AARP Foundation Offers Free Tax Preparation Services

Tax-Aide program provides free tax filing assistance to low/moderate income taxpayers through April 18.

CONCORD, NH — The AARP Foundation is providing free tax preparation services through its Tax-Aide program starting in February, according to a news release. The program focuses on those 50 years or older; however, this service is free to anyone who is not able to afford a tax preparation service.

“Last year, 274 AARP Foundation Tax-Aide volunteers helped more than 19,000 Granite Staters file their federal tax returns, resulting in nearly $14 million in income tax refunds,” said AARP New Hampshire State Director Todd Fahey. “This is an amazing free service for New Hampshire residents.”

According to the news release, the foundation’s Tax-Aide program has been in place for 49 years, and has more than 5,000 locations nationally in libraries, banks, senior centers and other locations. New Hampshire locations, and the specific dates and times can be found on the website.
