HOPKINTON, NH — A man from Manchester was arrested early Sunday morning on stolen vehicle and drunken driving charges after a chase with New Hampshire State Police.

Just before 12:30 a.m., state police received a BOLO (“be-on-the-lookout”) call concerning a stolen vehicle, a blue 2018 Subaru Outback, in Hillsborough. The suspect, identified as Brentt Adam Trudeau, 33, of Manchester, was reportedly driving the crossover back to town from Concord, according to the tip.

A trooper observed the vehicle on the Exit 5 offramp on Interstate 89 north and attempted to stop the driver on Route 202 west, a report stated. Trudeau, however, was accused of refusing to stop, and a chase ensued.

“During the pursuit,” state police said, “the suspect reached speeds (of) more than 105 mph and exhibited lane control issues, crossing the solid fog line into the breakdown lane.”

The chase continued west into Henniker, where Hillsboro police deployed a tire deflation device near the intersection of Route 202 and Foster Hill Road. The front driver’s side tire was deflated, but Trudeau “continued on multiple local roads before the Subaru ultimately stopped on Bacon Road,” state police said.

Trudeau was confirmed as the driver and the only occupant of the Subaru, the report said. He was arrested without incident. Trudeau was charged with theft, habitual offender, driving under the influence, aggravated DUI, operating after suspension, alcohol ignition interlock circumvention, driving without giving proof, disobeying an officer, reckless conduct, reckless operation, and breach of bail.
