Annual Hydrant Flushing Beginning Monday

Scheduled flushing areas will change each week.

The Highway and Utilities Division of Concord General Services will begin it’s annual hydrant flushing throughout Concord Monday, April 20. For the next few weeks, there will be three crews going out to scheduled areas to flush hydrants to remove any sediment from water distribution pipes. This process will help to maintain Concord’s water quality and also check water pressure. Residents should avoid doing laundry when hydrant flushing is occurring in their area. Concord water consumers may experience low pressure and discolored water during their scheduled flushing time. If discoloration occurs, run your tap water on cold until the water runs clear. There will be a new flushing schedule posted each week on the City’s website indicating the impacted areas. Be sure to check the City’s website each week at www.concordnh.gov/springoperations, or follow Concord General Services on Facebook or Twitter, for the newest flushing schedule.
