Annual League Of NH Craftsmen’s Fair Returns In 2021: Watch

Hundreds of League of New Hampshire Craftsmen artisans will be attending the 88th event from Aug. 7 to Aug. 15 on Mount Sunapee in Newbury.

CONCORD, NH — After a hiatus, due to the coronavirus pandemic in 2020, the League of New Hampshire Craftsmen’s Fair will return to Mount Sunapee in August.

The 88th event, held on the grounds of the Mount Sunapee Resort in Newbury, opens on Saturday, Aug. 7 and runs through Sunday, Aug. 15. The event will feature the works of around 300 artisans with 200 of them offering booths and exhibits.

“Our members have spent more than a year working diligently and many have explored new ways to express their creativity,” Miriam Carter, the executive director of the org, said. “People will likely see things they have never seen before. It has been a long and difficult path to get here. This past year has been deeply challenging for all of us, and the journey will be reflected in the passion of our members’ work. We invite everyone to reconnect with the League and rejoin a critical part of our state’s creative economy.”

The League has more than 650 juried members working in art, craft and design, sculpture, and other works, which will be exhibited at the fair. Artisans will also be demonstrating how they create their crafts — giving attendees the chance to see how handmade items are made, in various mediums.

Along with the artisans, there will be a number of food vendors including Thai offerings, wood-fired pizza, and smoothies, as well as new food and beverage offerings by the Mount Sunapee Resort.

The League is asking attendees to purchase their tickets online, at the org’s website, linked here, which will lead to shorter times in line and more expeditious movement through the gates.

The fair will be open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Aug. 7, to Aug. 15, rain or shine. Tickets are $16 for adults, with children under 12 being free; $14 for seniors 62 or older; and a two-day ticket admission is $24.

Masks are optional but attendees who may not be vaccinated are encouraged to wear a mask. Visitors who are concerned about crowds are encouraged to attend midweek, a time when there are historically fewer people attending. The fair has also been redesigned to allow for better social distancing between booths and attendees.
