Arkansas Woman Helped Off Mount Moosilauke In Woodstock
Allie Waters, 22, of Cabot, Arkansas, and two friends hiked up the mountain but she encountered a health issue after reaching the summit.

CONCORD, NH — A medical episode on Mount Moosilauke led to New Hampshire Fish and Game Department conservation officers assisting a woman off the mountain Wednesday.
In the early afternoon, Allie Waters, 22, of Cabot, Arkansas, and two friends had started a planned hike up the mountain via the Gorge Brook Trail. When they arrived at the summit, she began to feel ill, Sgt. Heidi Murphy of Fish and Game said.
“Once the group began their descent,” she said, “it became clear that Waters needed help as she was unable to walk on her own. The two friends had to stop and re-evaluate Waters’ condition frequently while they assisted her down the trail.”

The friends evaluated Waters’ condition frequently as they attempted to assist her most of the way down the trail. Later, conservation officers arrived to assist.
At around 8:15 p.m., Waters arrived at the parking lot and was taken to Speare Memorial Hospital by LinWood Ambulance Service for evaluation and treatment.

Murphy said the hikers were prepared, including having head gear and proper clothing with the layers needed for a winter hike.
“While winter hiking, your body requires more fuel for you to stay warm and keep moving than during summer months,” she said. “Be prepared to eat and drink frequently while on the trail. Hikers are asked to adhere to the Hiker Responsibility Code.”
