According to the U.S. Marshals Service, Rivera was on probation after being convicted of being a felon in possession of a firearm. He had also been arrested twice for receiving stolen property in 2013, according to posts on Portsmouth Patch and the Rockingham County Sheriff’s Department.
Rivera – who also reportedly used the aliases “John Rivera,” “Hector Vasquez,” and “Willy Vasquez,” was last known to live in the Portsmouth area – specifically, Gosling Road – but as of Monday, his whereabouts was unknown. He was scheduled today to be this week’s District of New Hampshire Fugitive of the Week after a warrant was issued for his arrested last week. Rivera was believed to be armed and dangerous, “based on his prior possession of a firearm conviction and his reported ties to a known gang,” according to Deputy Marshal Jeffrey White.
