CONCORD, NH — The U.S. Marshals-New Hampshire Joint Fugitive Task Force is asking for the public’s help finding a fugitive with a violent criminal history who might be armed and dangerous.

Paul Elijah Tasker Jr. is 45, about 6 feet, 2 inches tall, and weighs around 210 pounds. He has hazel eyes and brown hair. Tasker has several tattoos, including on his right hand, back, upper right arm, right shoulder, and upper left arm.

The warrant for his arrest was issued on Nov. 16 out of Belknap County Superior Court after he failed to appear at a hearing connected to prior criminal threatening and reckless conduct-firearms charges he pleaded guilty to, Andrew Grillo, a deputy marshal, said.

“Tasker failed to appear for sentencing in a 2016 case where he threatened the public by chambering a rifle and firing in the direction of a mother and her three kids,” Grillo said. “A convicted felon for a similar charge, Tasker is prohibited from possessing firearms.”

Tasker also has a 2005 sale of cocaine warrant out of Brevard County, Florida, but extradition limits don’t reach New Hampshire, Grillo said.

“Tasker has a very violent criminal history highlighted by unpredictable and irrational behavior,” he said. “He is known to reside in the Laconia area.”

Grill said the public and police should use caution if encountering Tasker, “as he is considered armed and dangerous.” If you see him or someone who looks like him, do not attempt to apprehend him yourself. Call local police or the task force at 603-225-1632.

According to superior court records, Tasker is a felon due to drug possession convictions out of Barnstead from June 2002. A carrying weapon without a license charge was nolle prossed in March 2003. Tasker was accused of probation violation in January 2008.

In July 2009, Tasker was charged with criminal threatening and witness tampering after an incident in Barnstead. He pleaded guilty to the threat charge in January 2010. A probation violation charge followed in November 2010. Six years later, he was found guilty on the probation violation.

In July 2016, he was charged with felony reckless conduct-deadly weapon, criminal threatening, and felon in possession of a dangerous weapon in Barnstead. He pleaded guilty to all three charges in September 2016. Tasker was accused of violation of probation in October 2020. He failed to appear at a motion to impose sentence hearing in Belknap County Superior Court on Nov. 15, and the warrant was issued the next day.
