HOOKSETT, NH — Local police and a federal law enforcement agency are investigating an attempted burglary on Sunday at a Hooksett gun shop.

A $5,000 reward is being offered by Shooters Outpost and Firearms Museum in Hooksett after an attempted break-in at just after 5 a.m. According to a post on Facebook, the store posted information about the incident, noting the would-be burglars “didn’t make it far” and “no guns were taken.” Due to extensive security, “they never even made it into the facility.”

“It is our responsibility to insure that it will never happen,” the company posted on Facebook.

The reward was being offered for information that leads to the arrest and conviction “of these scum,” due to “other attempted break-ins” at New Hampshire gun dealerships recently. Other attempted burglary incidents have been reported in Derry, Kingston, and Plaistow.

According to comments in the thread, there was a video of the incident but it is being held due to the incident being an active investigation.

“It’s best not to put law enforcement in harm’s way by sharing that,” the company said in a reply.

The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms & Explosives did alert area gun dealers to the attempted burglaries in the state, one dealer confirmed to Patch.
